Canon House acts as Development Manager on behalf of USS, beginning its relationship with them in 1999 and having successfully worked on asset development proposals to rationalise, extend and integrate retail parks to add value for the Fund.  We have worked with the Fund’s team to secure the necessary approvals and implement the various proposals associated with its projects.

Detailed below are examples of the projects that we have undertaken and continue to work on, on behalf of the scheme.



Enfield Retail Park - Enfield:

  • Prominent location adjacent to the A10
  • In total the retail park has 150,000 sq ft of floor space and 689 customer parking spaces
  • Current occupiers include Comet, Halfords, Sports World, JJB, Currys and Toys R Us
  • The park is adjacent to Sainsbury's supermarket and close to other retail parks
  • Canon House has acted as Development Manager on the scheme since USS acquired the park in June 2009
  • Former Homebase unit redeveloped to create new units for Best Buy and Pets at Home
  • Next phase to comprise redevelopment of former TGI unit for Boots and Costa Coffee

Croft Retail and Leisure Park - Bromborough:

  • 333,000 sq ft retail and leisure parks
  • Occupiers include DW Leisure (formerly JJB) Health and Fitness, Odeon Cinemas, Kidz Aloud, Fitness First, Pizza Hut, Boots, Pets at Home, Tesco Homeplus, Mothercare, Curry's, Next, Arcadia, Argos and Halfords
  • Secured improved planning and reconfiguration of the scheme to provide additional retail and restaurant units and the relocation of JJB
  • New Units have been developed for Halfords, Argos, Sports Direct, Pets at Home,Currys, PC World, Peacocks, Bank, Smyths Toys, Dreams and Pizza Hut on the site
  • Replaced redundant night club with new JJB development and restaurants
  • Outline planning secured for 86 housing units on a redundant car park site and sold to Taylor Wimpey
  • Managed a full team of consultants to include: planning, highways, retail agents, public affairs and solicitors

White Lion Retail Park - Dunstable:

  • Located a quarter of a mile east of the town centre with access to the A505
  • In total the retail park has 135,000 sq ft of floor space
  • Occupiers include; DW Leisure, Halfords, Laura Ashley, Comet, Pets at Home, Staples, Holiday Hypermarket, ScS, Pizza Hut and KFC
  • The park is adjacent to a Sainsbury's supermarket
  • Canon House acted as Development Manager and secured an extension and reconfiguration to the park in order to add value to the fund (including a new Pizza Hut unit and a new JJB, now DW Leisure Retail and Health and Fitness Club)
  • Undertook complete management of all the processes required, including working closely with key stakeholders
  • Negotiated the relaxation of planning restrictions on the park
  • Secured outline residential consent on surplus land
